About Hammock Greens

At their core, Hammock Greens are farmers and foodies. They wanted a better way to create delicious and clean greens, without using acres of land, thousands of gallons of water, and pesticides. They built Hammock Greens from one container farm to 11, and they’re just getting started! Their mission is to become South Florida’s top provider of hyper-local greens.

Scale as soon as you can to turn challenges into opportunities. Once you try something and become good at it, you should look to grow. If you’re not trying to grow, don’t be an entrepreneur.

Create a successful small farm business

Like Hammock Greens, many Freight Farmers sell to restaurants. Chefs and restaurant managers are very interested in sourcing farm-to-table, and your ability to grow year-round helps them stabilize their costs while getting great quality every time.

However, other customer markets can be equally successful! The two most common other than restaurants are grocery stores and direct-to-consumer/CSA programs. Check out our webinars with fellow Freight Farmers Steve Huntley and Sarah Ward.
