The University of North Texas Dining Services has earned a stellar reputation nationwide for its unwavering commitment to sustainability and self-sufficiency.

Demonstrating their cutting-edge approach to food production, the University of North Texas proudly maintains two Freight Farms on campus. These Freight Farms provide UNT Dining Services with the capability to grow a diverse range of fresh produce throughout the year, proudly serving the university. The fresh harvests are then distributed to various on-campus dining facilities, including the renowned Mean Greens Café, the first 100% vegan Dining Hall in the country.

We put the Greenery right across from one of our new dining facilities, Eagle Landing. And when you come on campus it’s clear the commitment to the whole-food approach and what the direction is for serving our students on campus.
— Peter Balabuch, Executive Director of UNT Dining Services
